As I’ve made a mention to the great strength of Saudi Arabia due to their access to funding, Iran
is, without a doubt, another hegemon in the region. Although they have been sanctioned more
than any other country in the history of countries (including North Korea), they present a
unique player in the Middle East.
Here are a few reasons why Iran can stand up against their enemies in the region:
Strategic Location: Iran’s location at the crossroads of several important
trade routes and access to both the Persian Gulf and the Caspian Sea gives it
significant strategic advantages in terms of controlling access to key resources
and trade routes. This allows Iran to exert a significant degree of control over
the flow of oil and other resources in the region, which is a major source of economic
and political power. Additionally, Iran’s location at the crossroads of Asia, Europe,
and Africa also makes it an important hub for trade and transportation, giving it the
potential to become a major economic power in the region.
Large Population: Iran has the largest population in the Persian Gulf region,
which gives it a larger pool of potential workers and soldiers, and a large
domestic market for goods and services. This gives Iran a larger and more
diverse workforce than many other countries in the region, which can be an
advantage in terms of economic growth and military capabilities. Additionally,
a large population can also give Iran more political influence and bargaining
power in regional and international organizations.
Military Capabilities: Iran has a large military force and has been developing
its own weapons systems, despite the sanctions. Iran’s military has been involved
in various conflicts in the region and has gained some experience that could be
used in future engagements. This gives Iran a significant degree of military
capabilities, which can be used for both defensive and offensive operations.
This could be an advantage for Iran in terms of projecting its power and influence
in the region, and for deterring potential aggressors. They also happen to have two
armies: The Islamic Republic of Iran Army and the Revolutionary Guard
